Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY team!
Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a member of the care team who supports patients throughout the outpatient continuum of care by performing a combination of clinical, scheduling, coordination, and administrative duties. The CMA performs patient care activities under the supervision of a licensed medical professional and may perform delegated interventions they are trained and competent to perform within the confines of state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule Interventional Radiology consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to facilitate seamless care coordination.
  • Manage incoming referrals and ensure all necessary documentation, authorizations, and records are obtained prior to scheduling.
  • Communicate procedure instructions, appointment details, and follow-up information to patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support department workflow through effective scheduling and administrative processes.
  • Perform clinical support duties as appropriate within CMA scope of practice and department needs.

HOURS: Full Time, 0.8 FTE, 64 Hours Biweekly
Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or three years equivalent medical background and experience.
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in scheduling, care coordination, referral management, or a specialty clinic setting preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
