Position Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinical team. This role supports the Nursing Department by assisting with medication coordination, lab procedures, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent patient care.


Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and maintain a welcoming environment at the Nursing Station
  • Assist with inventory management of house-stock medications
  • Review medication orders and ensure prescriptions are sent to the appropriate pharmacy
  • Coordinate with pharmacies to verify copays and pick up medications as directed
  • Communicate pharmacy delays or issues to providers and Nurse Manager
  • Monitor medication cart to ensure clients have required medications available
  • Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
  • Complete insurance forms and document patient appointments accurately in medical records
  • Submit prior authorizations (PA) for medications when required
  • Report directly to the Nurse Manager

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program
  • Must be proficient in Phlebotomy
  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA or recognized certifying agency)
  • Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment a plus
  • Familiarity with KIPU preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
