Job description

Purpose of Position
Ensure all medical assistants are trained and adhere to policy and protocols. Review provider schedules daily to ensure appropriate coverage. Ensure all charts are reviewed prior to patient appt and ready for the provider. Assist with interviewing and hiring potential CMA. Ensure department has sufficient coverage at all times.
Description
  1. Assist with interviewing, hiring and training new employees
  2. Assist with employee management, i.e. schedules, performance evaluations, mtgs., protocols, etc.
  3. Review patient charts 48 hrs prior to appt to assure all records required by provider are in electronic record
  4. Obtain vitals, review medication list and enter all appropriate information in EMR
  5. Proof RX refills, E-scribe medications, call pharmacy and patient with any issues or concerns
  6. Perform EKG as directly by physician
  7. Call patients with test results per request from provider
  8. Assign CMA for Nuclear coverage when needed
  9. Assist physician with patients in satellite offices
  10. Sort echocardiograms and holters for MDs to interpret
  11. Maintain and track RHCI EKG log
  12. Promote a positive atmosphere
  13. Delegate duties as needed to ensure CMA operates in a friendly atmosphere
  14. Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested

Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Medical Assistant - Certification
  • Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management skills
  • Experience with current office technology, proficient with computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.)
  • A Minimum of 5 year's experience supervising staff in a medical office setting, prefer cardiology
