Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end translational data products; document data locations, unlock source systems, perform entity mapping/modeling/validation, and ensure products answer high-value scientific questions.
  • Build and maintain ETL/data-normalization pipelines on Databricks/AWS creating governed, well-documented datasets in Unity Catalog (tables/views).
  • Partner with data owners/governance to bring new sources under governance and make them AI-ready (cataloged, described, permissioned, quality-checked, discoverable).
  • Translate scientific/business questions into data models and SQL query mappings; document constraints/context for stakeholders.
  • Apply test/validation-driven practices: data quality checks, reconciliation to source, unit/regression tests running on every PR (GitHub Actions).
  • Engineer for robustness: infrastructure-as-code (CDK/CloudFormation), automated checks, security/SDLC compliance, scanning (Wiz/Dependabot), and timely remediation.
  • Prepare feature/model-ready datasets and support ML/GenAI workloads; support data product deployment/accessibility on NVIDIA clusters.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • B.S. (relevant) + 4+ years; production ETL/ELT at scale.
  • Expert SQL (joins/windows/performance; verify correctness); Python.
  • AWS (S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, ECS, Fargate).
  • Docker + ECS/Fargate via IaC + GitHub Actions; health checks, secrets (parameter store), SSO/OIDC; maintain MCP servers.
  • CloudOps/DevOps monitoring + incident response; GitHub fluency; CLI (git/shell/AWS/Databricks) and daily use of Claude Code.
  • Life sciences data experience (clinical, molecular/omics, assay outputs) and ability to engage with study design/science.
Preferred:
  • Translational medicine/biomarker/biospecimen domain; SDTM/ADaM/EDC; Databricks (Unity Catalog/Delta Lake/DLT); omics modality depth or digital pathology/imaging.
  • Extending Claude Code; ML feature/RAG/GenAI data prep; data governance/metadata (lineage, contracts, access models).
Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
  • Compensation range(s): $118,650–$143,778 (Cambridge Crossing) or $107,870–$130,707 (Princeton–NJ; Tampa–FL).
