Are you a seniorlevel data engineer who thrives on ownership, scale, and realworld impact? Trissential is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our client's Medical Education & Research team, supporting nextgeneration healthcare data platforms.

This is a highimpact role where you'll design, build, and operate productiongrade ETL/ELT pipelines across enterprise cloud environments-powering analytics that directly support healthcare innovation.

This is not a prototypeonly role. You'll own pipelines endtoend, set technical direction when requirements are unclear, and deliver reliable, secure data systems at scale.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across GCP and Azure cloud platforms
  • Model large, complex datasets for analytics using dimensional modeling, normalization, and SCDs
  • Orchestrate workflows using Airflow, Cloud Composer, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools
  • Own pipelines in production-monitoring, troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving performance
  • Ensure secure handling of PHI in alignment with HIPAA requirements, including access controls and auditing
  • Translate business and stakeholder needs into clear technical designs and delivery plans
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git and enterprise deployment standards
  • Identify automation and process improvements that reduce manual effort and increase reliability
  • Explore emerging data technologies and recommend enhancements to platform capabilities
  • Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices across the team

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • 7+ years of data engineering experience delivering productiongrade systems
  • Advanced SQL expertise with handson experience building complex data pipelines
  • Strong development experience using Python or Java
  • Proven experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
  • Handson experience across GCP, Azure, BigQuery, and SQL Server
  • Solid understanding of data modeling for analytics workloads
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, Cloud Composer, Dagster, or Prefect)
  • Comfort working in enterprise environments with governance, standards, and controls

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Direct experience working with healthcare data and PHI

  • Experience supporting both batch and streaming data pipelines
