Senior Software Engineer – AI Platform Engineering

Location: Remote (United States)
Duration: Contract
Pay Range: $75/hr-$80/hr.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI platforms and cloud-native infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building scalable distributed systems, AI-powered applications, and backend services supporting machine learning and generative AI workloads. This role requires strong expertise in Python, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability, and modern software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI platform services and backend infrastructure.
  • Build cloud-native applications and microservices using Python, Go, Java, or similar technologies.
  • Develop and support containerized applications running on Kubernetes across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
  • Implement AI model serving, inference services, and distributed runtime platforms for machine learning and generative AI workloads.
  • Support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent-based AI solutions.
  • Develop and maintain observability solutions including monitoring, logging, metrics collection, alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, AI engineers, and product teams to deliver production-grade solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, testing, deployment automation, and operational support.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Support MLOps, LLMOps, and AI platform operational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
  • Strong programming experience with Python and at least one additional language such as Go, Java, or C++.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
  • Experience working with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG architectures.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing observability solutions, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern software development methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI infrastructure and model serving platforms.
  • Healthcare technology experience, including Epic, HL7, FHIR, or HIPAA-compliant environments.
  • Experience building large-scale AI and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud deployments.
