Job description

Summary:
We are seeking a Cloud & Automation Architect to support and evolve the enterprise cloud platform with a primary focus on the Azure Landing Zone, cloud governance, and operational stability. This role contributes to the design, implementation, and upkeep of Azure infrastructure and ensures cloud services are deployed securely, consistently, and in alignment with organizational standards.
In addition to cloud platform responsibilities, this role supports the organization’s Cloud and automation strategy, contributing to intelligent automation initiatives and AI enabled solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands on technologist with strong Azure experience who can balance architectural guidance with direct technical execution.
This role is based in St. Louis, Missouri and operates in a hybrid office environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Apply Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework best practices to support the ongoing management and optimization of the Azure Landing Zone.
•    Assist in defining and enforcing cloud governance standards, including management groups, subscriptions, Azure Policy, RBAC, naming conventions, tagging, and cost controls.
•    Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure services, including networking, identity, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, and security.
•    Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform integrated with CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, compliant, and repeatable deployments.
•    Support cloud automation initiatives, including infrastructure automation, operational workflows, and platform stability improvements.
•    Participate in the enablement of AI and intelligent automation use cases following established governance and security standards.
•    Participate in architecture reviews and provide technical input for cloud migrations and new cloud native solutions.
•    Troubleshoot cloud platform issues, support incident resolution, and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
•    Collaborate with infrastructure, application, data, and business teams to align cloud solutions with business needs.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience Requirements:
•    5–8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
•    Hands on experience supporting enterprise Azure environments and cloud governance models.
•    Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, and CI/CD driven deployments.
•    Familiarity with automation platforms and cloud-native workflow tools.
•    Exposure to AI, data platforms, or intelligent automation concepts in an enterprise environment.
