Hybrid Cloud automation Engineer
1. Hybrid Cloud Automation Strategy
Design and implement automation frameworks for Azure and VMware environments.
Build reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modulesand Ansible playbooks to standardize provisioning.
Establish automation standards, guardrails, and policies across hybrid platforms.
Enable secure self-service infrastructure capabilities.
2. Azure Cloud Engineering & Day-to-Day Maintenance
A. Azure Cloud Engineering
Automate deployment of Azure resources:
o Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs
o Virtual Machines
o Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
o Azure App Services
o Azure Storage, SQL, and other PaaS services
Develop and maintain Azure Landing Zones.
Implement Azure Policy and governance guardrails.
Integrate Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.
B. Day-to-Day Azure Cloud Maintenance & Operations
Monitor Azure resource health, performance, and availability.
Perform routine maintenance activities including:
o VM patching (via Azure Update Management)
o Backup validation and restore testing
o Capacity monitoring and scaling adjustments
o Cost monitoring and optimization reviews
Troubleshoot production incidents impacting Azure workloads.
Respond to Azure service advisories and implement mitigations.
Manage subscription hygiene (resource cleanup, tagging compliance).
Ensure disaster recovery configurations (Azure Site Recovery, backup policies).
Conduct monthly cloud operational health reviews.
Support audit evidence collection for SOX/SOC2 compliance.
Maintain documentation of architecture, runbooks, and support procedures.
3. VMware Private Cloud Automation
Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of:
o vSphere VMs
o vCenter
o ESXi hosts
o vSAN and NSX
Standardize VM templates and golden images.
Automate patching and lifecycle management for on-prem resources.
4. Infrastructure as Code & DevOps
Develop IaC using:
o Terraform
o Bicep / ARM Templates
o PowerShell
o Python
Build CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Implement GitOps and automated validation.
Maintain version-controlled infrastructure repositories.
5. Security, Governance & Compliance
Implement policy-as-code and compliance automation.
Enforce security baselines across Azure and VMware.
Partner with Security and Enterprise Architecture teams.
Ensure adherence to enterprise availability and resilience standards.
