Job Description:

Five Star Pizza is seeking a dedicated and responsible Closing Shift Lead to join our team. The Closing Shift Lead will be responsible for overseeing the closing shift operations, ensuring that food is prepared to company standards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supervising team members. This role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and ensure that all duties are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation & Quality Control: Prepare all menu items according to company standards, ensuring that food is consistently of the highest quality.
  • Delegation & Supervision: Assign tasks to shift employees and direct them throughout the shift. Ensure that employees are following procedures and working efficiently.
  • Employee Training: Assist in the training of new and existing employees, ensuring they understand and follow food preparation, safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness in the restaurant and kitchen, including deep cleaning and sanitizing areas as required. Follow all food safety protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other shift leads to ensure smooth operations across shifts and communicate any issues or updates.
  • Internal Controls & Logs: Maintain proper records, including shift logs and cash controls. Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations.
  • Customer Orders & Cash Handling: Take customer orders when needed, manage cash transactions, and ensure accuracy in handling cash and registers.
  • Closing Duties: Ensure all closing procedures are followed, including the preparation of the store for the next days opening, securing all areas of the restaurant, and ensuring safe handling of all food products.
  • Delivery Assistance: Assist with deliveries when necessary, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
  • Flexibility: Must be available to cover shifts as needed, especially when other employees are absent, and willing to work late into the evening (until 2-3 AM).
Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, specifically in pizza-making (training will be provided to meet our standards). Management experience is a plus but not required.
  • Skills: Must have strong leadership skills, good customer service abilities, and an excellent work ethic. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to move quickly in a busy kitchen, bend low, reach high, and clean all areas of the store.
  • Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, and be willing to work until 2-3 AM daily.
  • Drivers License: Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record (for delivery tasks).
  • Punctuality & Attendance: Must have excellent attendance and punctuality, showing up on time for scheduled shifts.
