Financial Leadership that Drives Production
At Wahl, our plant doesn't run on numbers alone, they run on insight, accountability, and partnership. As our Plant Controller, you will be at the center of those forces, embedding financial intelligence into the day-to-day operations of our Sterling manufacturing facility. This is not a desk-only finance role. You'll be on the floor, in the meetings, and at the table, partnering with operations to turn data into decisions, costs into opportunities, and plans into results.
What You'll Do
As Plant Controller, you'll serve as the primary financial business partner for plant leadership, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. You will:
  • Develop a strong, trusted partnership with the Operations Director and plant leadership team
  • Oversee standard costing, including the annual standard cost reset process, across the plant and support new product development initiatives from a costing perspective.
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the Sterling plant.
  • Review and enhance controls and processes that ensure effective inventory management and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain cost deployment as part of the Wahl Operating System to identify and track cost productivity improvements.
  • Oversee standard costing across the plant, including the annual standard cost reset
  • Execute month-end close processes in collaboration with the Corporate Controller, ensuring accurate and timely financial results
  • Partner with plant leadership and material planning to support capacity planning though the SIOP process
  • Drive financial intelligence across the plant by educating plant leadership team helping to enhance understanding financial impacts of decisions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Sterling plant finance team, building a high-performing function that creates value

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, or accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Prior Plant Controller experience
  • 5+ years of people management with a strong focus on developing talent
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills paired with sound judgement
  • A strategic problem solver who also enjoys rolling up your sleeves
  • Credible, collaborative, and comfortable influencing across functions
  • Driven by continuous learning and long-term impact
