A clinical technician is a medical laboratory worker. As a clinical technician, your duties are to collect organic samples like blood or urine from a patient, test samples for diseases or other health information, and record vital statistics. You may operate a number of complex tools in the lab, such as microscopes and cell counters, and record the data using computer programs. You then discuss results with other technicians, pathologists, and physicians. Your responsibilities may also include keeping the lab clean and all equipment in working order. Depending on your level of experience, you may train or supervise other technicians.
