Job description

The Opportunity

Windsor Solutions is looking for a Project Manager who is ready to grow into the full scope of independent project delivery. This is an ideal role for an IT consulting professional stepping into structured project leadership for the first time, or for someone with one to two years of project management experience who wants to deepen that practice.

Windsor serves environmental and regulatory agencies across the country. In this role, you will work alongside a senior Project Manager in a structured, supported environment, taking clear ownership of workstreams and coordination tasks while learning Windsor's delivery methodology. As you grow into the role, you will own individual projects end-to-end, sitting at the center of every engagement: translating client needs into action, keeping delivery on track, and building the kind of trust that turns implementations into long-term partnerships.

What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will evolve with your growth, but your core focus will be keeping projects healthy, clients informed, and teams aligned.

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Maintain project schedules, status logs, and scope documentation using Windsor’s defined standards
  • Track milestones, flag risks and issues early, and escalate appropriately within established guidelines
  • Support or lead project phases, from initiation and planning through go-live and post-implementation handoff
  • Apply structured change management processes to protect scope and schedule integrity
  • Produce clear, consistent status reports and updates for internal and client stakeholders

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate project status proactively and clearly, ensuring clients are never surprised
  • Align client expectations to project scope under the guidance of senior PMs when needed
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for day-to-day project questions and coordination

Team Coordination

  • Coordinate assigned team members and resources across workstreams
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication between client staff, internal consultants, and technical teams
  • Build collaborative working relationships and reinforce shared responsibility for delivery outcomes

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow Windsor’s established project management standards and contribute to their refinement
  • Implement incremental improvements to delivery processes as patterns emerge across engagements
  • Execute structured project closure and knowledge transfer to ensure smooth client handoff

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT consulting (required)
  • 1–2 years of direct project management or project coordination experience, OR demonstrated readiness to transition into PM ownership
  • Experience supporting or delivering software implementation projects (SaaS or on-premises); environmental/regulatory domain a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • PMP certification in progress or planned — Windsor supports and encourages the path to PMP

Project Management Skills

  • Scope documentation and change log maintenance
  • Structured schedule management and milestone tracking
  • Risk identification, tracking, and escalation
  • Budget monitoring support and financial tracking within guidelines
  • Stakeholder communication and status reporting
  • Resource and workload coordination across project teams
  • Change management process application
  • Project closure and client handoff execution

IT & Consulting Skills

  • Experience with full life-cycle software implementations
  • Workshop and working session facilitation
  • Implementation planning and approach design
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA desired

Professional Skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication, you keep people informed without over-complicating
  • Strong organizational skills and disciplined prioritization
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, you build trust through consistency and follow-through
  • Self-directed and resourceful within defined guidelines
  • Conflict resolution at a routine, working-level scope
  • Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally as project needs require

Your Growth Path at Windsor

Windsor's PM career framework provides a clear, competency-based path with growth defined by increasing autonomy, scope of impact, and depth of judgment, not just tenure.

Early in the role, you will focus on structured execution: building foundational client relationships, delivering with precision, and learning Windsor's delivery methodology under experienced guidance.

As you advance, you will independently own projects end-to-end, managing risk proactively, exercising situational judgment, and contributing improvements to our delivery practices.

Windsor invests in your development through PMP certification support and structured mentorship, helping you grow from solid execution to confident, independent project ownership.

You’re a Good Fit at Windsor If You…

  • Are energized by mission-driven work and want your projects to matter
  • Thrive in a structured, process-oriented environment and take pride in disciplined execution
  • Communicate proactively, clients and teammates are never left wondering where things stand
  • Are ready to own your work while knowing when to escalate or ask for help
  • Are curious and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done
  • Can juggle competing priorities without losing track of the details
  • Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting as projects evolve
  • Are eager to grow and ready to invest in the path toward PMP certification
