Job Description
This temporary onsite role requires a dedicated individual with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position within a healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be adept at prioritizing tasks, and possess the ability to maintain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, administration, and patients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Answer and triage calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate individuals or departments.
  • Schedule appointments and perform insurance verification functions.
  • Utilize the Outlook application for calendaring purposes.
  • Process and track all incoming and outgoing referrals, reviewing the Referral Work Queue and screening new patients.
  • Sort and deposit mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Interact with patients, providers, and caregivers, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Provide patients with preoperative information and advise them of surgical and financial requirements.
  • Upload patient imaging and assist in various work assignments.
Daily Case Load
Schedule patients for appointments, infusions, chemotherapy, etc., averaging 100-120 cases per day.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with the EPIC EMR system is preferred.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact diplomatically and professionally with patients and staff.
  • Ability to use health system computer systems and resources effectively.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare facility is essential.
Skills Preferred
  • Experience working directly with physicians.
