Schedule: This position will work 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length is 8-hours on the day/evening shift and every 3rd weekend.
Job Overview:
The Clinical Lab Assistant will be working with a diverse population within our healthcare environment and plays an important role in providing quality and professional services in keeping with Grand Itasca's values as they interact with our patients, families and coworkers. The CLA performs laboratory specimen collection, specimen processing, as well as provides for safe and secure specimen handling and point of care testing when appropriate. The LCT enters order and collection information into the Laboratory Information System and associated subsystems, schedules tests and procedures, and provides results in the LIS/HIS and over the phone.
Qualifications:
  1. Completion of a phlebotomy training course or phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory setting desired.
  2. Experience in a health care related field preferred.
  3. Good interpersonal communication skills
  4. Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  5. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
