Clinical Interviewer Remote information

What is a clinical interviewer?

Clinical interviewers are professionals who conduct structured or semi-structured interviews with patients or research participants to gather information about their medical, psychological, or social histories. In a remote role, they use phone or video calls to assess symptoms, collect data for research studies, or screen participants for clinical trials. Their responsibilities also include documenting responses accurately, ensuring confidentiality, and following ethical guidelines. Remote clinical interviewers need strong communication skills and attention to detail, as they often work independently while adhering to study protocols.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a clinical interviewer?

To thrive as a Clinical Interviewer (Remote), you need a background in psychology or a related field, strong interviewing skills, and familiarity with clinical assessment methodologies. Proficiency with telehealth platforms, secure data entry systems, and digital recording tools is typically required. Excellent active listening, empathy, and clear communication skills help build rapport and ensure accurate information gathering. These abilities are vital for maintaining data integrity, supporting patient trust, and enabling effective remote assessments.

How does a remote clinical interviewer collaborate with healthcare teams?

Remote Clinical Interviewers frequently use secure video conferencing, electronic health records (EHR), and messaging platforms to communicate with healthcare teams. They are responsible for conducting patient interviews, compiling assessments, and promptly sharing findings with relevant staff, such as clinicians and case managers. To ensure effective collaboration, regular virtual meetings, clear documentation protocols, and timely updates are essential parts of the workflow. This structure helps maintain seamless coordination and continuity of care, even when working remotely.

At Best Home Health Providers Inc., we've gone from treating 10 patients to thousands of patients all throughout the Bay Area and beyond in just 7 years. We've won awards for our high-quality care with patients and continue to grow rapidly. At Best, you and the patients aren't a number.
Our mission is to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning home from medical facilities by offering expert guidance throughout their recovery journey.

We value teamwork, empathy, and a commitment to high-quality service, all aimed at putting patients and their families at ease during their recovery. If you are passionate about making a positive impact in patients' lives and working in a supportive and family-oriented atmosphere, we encourage you to join us in providing exceptional home health care.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
  • High integrity and ethics. Non-negotiable. You handle confidential information appropriately and consistently do the right thing.

This position has no patient care responsibilities and does not visit or treat patients.
  • Evaluates each candidate's clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and judgment using role-specific interview guides, competency checklists, and scenario-based questions aligned with home health and hospice standards of practice.
  • Assesses candidate familiarity with home health and hospice regulations and workflows, including OASIS and hospice assessment documentation, plan of care development, Medicare Conditions of Participation, infection control, and patient and caregiver education.
  • Documents interview findings in the applicant tracking system and delivers standardized scoring and clear hire, hold, or decline recommendations to the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers within established turnaround times.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to keep interview guides, competency criteria, and scoring rubrics current with clinical practice, regulatory changes, and agency needs.
  • Applies consistent, job-related interview standards for every candidate in compliance with federal and California employment law, including the Fair Employment and Housing Act and the California Fair Chance Act, and maintains strict confidentiality of candidate information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief People Officer.

Requirements
