Starting Pay Range: up to $37 + Bonus Structure

Position SummaryAs a Registered Nurse, you will safely administer methadone and other prescribed medications under the direction of the Medical Director while supporting patients throughout their recovery journey. Much of your day is spent providing one-on-one care at the medication dosing window, assessing patients, monitoring their progress, and collaborating with counselors and providers to ensure safe, effective treatment.This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy patient interaction while working in a structured outpatient setting with a manageable pace and consistent routine.What You'll Do
Patient Care- Administer methadone and other prescribed medications according to physician orders.
- Assess patients for safe dosing and identify concerns requiring follow-up.
- Monitor patient health and document observations accurately.
- Provide education on treatment, wellness, and recovery.
Care Coordination- Collaborate with physicians, counselors, pharmacies, laboratories, and community providers.
- Coordinate referrals and support patients in accessing healthcare resources.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Medication Management- Maintain medication accountability in accordance with DEA and company standards.
- Prepare courtesy and vacation medication packages.
- Monitor medication inventory and report discrepancies promptly.
Compliance & Quality- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Follow all federal, state, and accreditation standards.
- Complete required training and maintain nursing competencies.
- Obtain phlebotomy certification when required by state regulations.
- Assist with training newly hired nurses.
Qualifications- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or substance use treatment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the treatment team.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an outpatient medical clinic where nurses provide medication dosing and patient assessments in a structured setting. The work is steady, organized, and focused on caring for patients individually throughout the morning clinic hours.
Physical Requirements- Primarily standing and walking throughout the clinic during medication dosing hours.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting.
- Ability to safely perform nursing assessments and medication administration.
- Appropriate use of personal protective equipment when indicated.
