Job description

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team and provide high-level infrastructure support and strategic guidance for client environments. This position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex technical challenges, and shaping reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions. You will partner with a collaborative engineering group while helping organizations strengthen and modernize their core systems. Local candidates to the Greater Milwaukee area with MSP experience is desired.


Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary technical resource for assigned client accounts, building trusted relationships and guiding infrastructure decisions.

• Plan, deploy, and support core technologies across server, network, firewall, backup, cloud, and security environments.

• Administer and enhance Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, including identity, messaging, and cloud-based services.

• Lead infrastructure initiatives such as platform upgrades, environment migrations, virtualization work, and system improvements from planning through completion.

• Resolve advanced technical issues and provide escalation support to operational teams when complex incidents require senior engineering expertise.

• Conduct routine assessments of client systems to identify risks, improve performance, and recommend practical technology enhancements.

• Maintain stable and secure environments across on-premises and cloud systems while aligning solutions with client business goals.

• Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing learning, certification efforts, and awareness of evolving industry standards.

• 5+ years of experience supporting complex infrastructure environments across multiple clients, locations, or business units.

• Strong background in Windows Server and Active Directory administration, architecture, and troubleshooting.

• Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including firewall management, switching, and overall network design.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Exchange Online administration.

• Proven expertise with virtualization technologies such as VMware and/or Hyper-V, including implementation and migration activities.

• Ability to manage infrastructure projects independently and deliver results with limited supervision.

• Effective client-facing communication skills with a track record of advising business stakeholders on technical solutions.

• Familiarity with enterprise hardware and platforms such as Dell, HP, Cisco, Meraki, Citrix, and Microsoft Exchange environments
