Financial Support Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail?oriented Financial Support Specialist to support our client's three-person financial advisory office in Indianapolis. This role is heavily manual, paper?based, hands?on administrative work, supporting tax return processing, document handling, client communications, filing, and investment?side administrative tasks. This position requires someone who takes direction well, thrives in a heads?down environment, and can operate with precision in a structured, fast?paced office.

Employment Type: Temp for MLA - Long-term temporary with 4?month training period
Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule: M-F - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM / M-Th - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM after April 15 - 32 hours (Friday Off)
Responsibilities/Day to Day
  • Assemble, organize, and prepare physical tax return packets.
  • Scan completed documents into the E-file system with accuracy.
  • Maintain handwritten notes and ensure proper documentation within client files.
  • File, sort, and maintain paper?based records in an organized system.
  • Prepare and update client documentation and administrative packets.
  • Transport completed tax returns to designated shipping locations (e.g., UPS).
  • Perform daily scanning, filing, sorting, and manual document handling.
  • Support office workflow by preparing materials, updating folders, and managing paper queues.
  • Maintain a structured and organized workspace to ensure consistent document flow.
  • Answer incoming calls, provide basic assistance, and route callers appropriately.
  • Record client updates and interactions using handwritten notes in the appropriate files.
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks related to investment account servicing.
  • Maintain up?to?date documentation and notes for client servicing needs.
  • Monitor general email inboxes and identify items requiring follow?up.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative or office support experience.
  • Strong ability to work in a manual, paper?heavy environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling documents.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and take direction well.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and maintain workflow in a fast?paced setting.
  • Clear and professional communication skills (phone and in?person).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion.
  • Must be able to work onsite every day; no remote or hybrid options.
  • Experience in financial services, tax preparation support, accounting offices, or document?intensive environments. (preferred)
  • Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred but not required).
  • Experience handling handwritten documentation and structured filing systems.
  • Familiarity with processes that require accuracy, repetition, and adherence to steps.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
