Client Success Project Manager information

What does a client success project manager do?

A Client Success Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that clients achieve their desired outcomes while using a company’s products or services. They act as the main point of contact between the client and the company, coordinating project timelines, managing deliverables, and addressing any concerns or issues that arise. Their role combines elements of project management and customer relationship management, aiming to enhance client satisfaction, retention, and long-term success.

How does a client success project manager typically balance client expectations with project deliverables?

Client Success Project Managers play a crucial role in ensuring that client needs are met while also keeping projects on track and within scope. This often involves setting clear communication channels, proactively managing timelines, and regularly updating clients on progress or potential roadblocks. They work closely with cross-functional teams, such as sales, product, and support, to align client goals with achievable deliverables and ensure a smooth project lifecycle. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a client success project manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Client Success Project Manager, you need a strong background in project management, client relations, and a relevant bachelor's degree, often supplemented by experience in customer-facing roles. Familiarity with project management tools (such as Asana, Trello, or Jira), CRM systems, and certifications like PMP or CSM are commonly required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills help you manage client expectations and drive project success. These competencies are crucial for ensuring projects are delivered on time, clients remain satisfied, and long-term partnerships are fostered.

Summary

Project Manager II is an experienced project management professional responsible for leading defined, cross-functional projects within the Digital & Technology Portfolio. This role partners with Applications, Data & Integrations, ERP, Operational Technology, IT Operations, business teams, and external vendors to plan, execute, and deliver technology initiatives that support the business.

Project Manager II works with limited day-to-day oversight, escalating decisions that carry significant cost, schedule, or scope impact. The role manages projects where requirements evolve and priorities shift, and communicates status clearly to project sponsors and department leadership. This position supports multiple business areas within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional technology projects from initiation through closure, managing scope, schedule, resources, and delivery outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts as defined in the Project Delivery Playbook.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to gather and confirm requirements and drive alignment among stakeholders.
  • Manage projects with evolving or competing requirements - identifying risks and issues early, developing mitigation options, and escalating appropriately.
  • Coordinate day-to-day vendor and contractor activity for assigned projects, including tracking deliverables against SOWs and raising performance concerns to the department leadership team.
  • Execute change management and communication plans for system implementations and business process changes.
  • Track project spending against approved budgets, flag variances, and report financial status to project sponsors.
  • Apply established PM standards, templates, and governance practices, and contribute feedback that improves them.
  • Support the adoption of new systems and business processes across the organization, including end-user training coordination.
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives of moderate complexity.
  • Share knowledge and provide informal guidance to less experienced project management staff.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of project management experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall, Hybrid, and Agile methodologies.
  • PMP certification preferred, or active progress toward certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to present clearly to management-level audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects with limited oversight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and recommend technology and process solutions for assigned projects.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and shifting requirements.

 Our Total Compensation Package Includes:

  • Medical, dental and vision benefits.
  • 401k with Company match.
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays.
  • Education Assistance Program.
  • Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability.
