Job description

Position Function:

The Cash Management Manager is a senior commercial banking leader with full accountability for the financial performance, product strategy, and operational health of CPB's commercial cash management and treasury management services business. This role is the primary product owner and general manager for the Bank's cash management platform — responsible for defining the product vision, building and executing a multi-year product and technology roadmap, and driving revenue growth, profitability, and client retention across the commercial deposit and fee income portfolio.

This individual leads a cross-functional team spanning product management, client implementation, and service support, and serves as the principal liaison between line-of-business commercial bankers, technology partners, and external vendors. The role carries full P&L accountability for the commercial cash management product area, including fee revenue, expense management, and budget performance, as well as overall accountability for ensuring the product area operates within the Bank's compliance and regulatory framework.

Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Own and maintain the Bank's commercial cash management product and technology roadmap, encompassing a 3-year strategic horizon with annual and quarterly milestones aligned to corporate objectives.
    • Define product vision and prioritize the roadmap based on client needs, competitive analysis, revenue opportunity, and technology capability, balancing innovation with operational feasibility.
    • Lead the full product lifecycle — ideation, business case development, vendor evaluation, implementation planning, launch, and post-launch performance measurement — for all cash management products and enhancements.
    • Evaluate emerging treasury management service technologies (APIs, real-time payments, embedded banking, AI-driven analytics) and recommend adoption pathways with associated cost-benefit analysis.
    • Rationalize the existing product suite on a defined cadence, sunsetting underperforming products and prioritizing investment toward high-growth, high-margin offerings.
    • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and external fintech/core banking vendors to translate roadmap priorities into executable delivery plans with defined SLAs and acceptance criteria.
    • Develop and maintain product collateral, pricing schedules, feature documentation, and internal training materials for all cash management products and services.
  • Financial & P&L Accountability
    • Hold full accountability for the commercial cash management product area's financial performance, including fee revenue, direct expense, and contribution margin versus budget.
    • Develop and manage the department's annual budget; own variance reporting and maintain fee revenue within +/- 10% of plan through active pipeline management and pricing discipline.
    • Collaborate with Treasury and senior management on product pricing strategy to ensure competitiveness in the Hawaii market while supporting bank-wide NIM and profitability objectives.
    • Build and present business cases for new product investments and technology initiatives, including capital budgeting plans, projected ROI, and payback period analysis.
    • Track and report key product-level metrics (penetration rates, revenue per client, service utilization, churn) and use data to inform roadmap prioritization and sales strategy.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team of product, implementation, and service professionals; foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client-centricity.
    • Define clear roles, performance expectations, and development paths for each team member; administer performance management fairly and transparently.
    • Provide coaching and tools to strengthen the team's product knowledge, client engagement capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
    • Assign and monitor workloads to ensure efficient use of team capacity; cross-train staff to maintain coverage and flexibility across all functional areas.
    • Champion desired change behaviors aligned to bank strategy and serve as the department's primary change agent for product and process transformations.
  • Sales Enablement & Client Management
    • Develop and execute cash management growth and retention strategies in partnership with Commercial Banking relationship managers and Cash Management Officers.
    • Act as a senior subject matter expert and executive sponsor for complex client relationships, new business pursuits, and strategic product demonstrations.
    • Identify target market segments and inform the Bank's go-to-market approach for treasury services, including competitive positioning and differentiation strategies.
    • Monitor client satisfaction and service quality metrics; resolve escalated client issues and drive continuous improvement in the client experience.
    • Maintain awareness of competitor product offerings, pricing, and technology capabilities; translate market intelligence into actionable roadmap inputs.
  • Operations & Service Delivery
    • Ensure all cash management products and services are implemented accurately and within established SLAs; oversee incident identification, escalation, and resolution.
    • Maintain product maintenance ticklers and ensure timely action on regulatory, compliance, and system-driven product changes.
    • Partner with Operations and IT to establish and maintain procedures that support reliable, scalable, and efficient service delivery.
    • Provide advance training to end-users for new product launches and material changes to existing products.
  • Compliance & Risk Oversight
    • Maintain overall accountability for the commercial product area's compliance posture, ensuring all products, processes, and controls operate within applicable federal and state regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as Business Unit Compliance Officer (BUCO), with dotted-line reporting to the Compliance Division Manager, and fulfill associated program obligations under the Bank's Compliance Management System Policy and BSA Policy.
    • Proactively identify compliance risks associated with new products, vendors, or process changes; ensure timely escalation and remediation.
    • Maintain working knowledge of key consumer and commercial banking regulations affecting cash management products and ensure staff training and procedural controls are adequate and current.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in commercial banking, treasury management services, or financial services product management required.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a product or technology roadmap, including vendor management, RFP processes, and technology delivery partnerships required.
  • Bank operations experience and bank depository system experience preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
