Key Responsibilities
Tax Leadership & Technical Expertise
  • Manage and review complex individual, partnership, S‑corporation, C‑corporation, trust, and estate tax returns
  • Research and resolve advanced tax issues, providing practical and strategic guidance to clients
  • Serve as a technical resource to partners, managers, and staff on tax compliance and planning matters
  • Ensure tax engagements comply with federal, state, and local regulations

Client Advisory & Relationship Management
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, maintaining strong long‑term relationships
  • Lead tax planning initiatives, including multi‑year strategies, entity structuring, and transactional planning
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding deadlines, issues, and opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations alongside partners

Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead, mentor, and develop tax managers, seniors, and staff
  • Review work for quality, accuracy, and efficiency while providing constructive feedback
  • Assist with staffing, workload management, and workflow optimization, especially during busy season
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture

Firm Operations & Strategy
  • Contribute to firm initiatives related to growth, efficiency, technology, and service offerings
  • Assist with practice management, including process improvements and best practices
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of tax professionals

Business Development & Partner Preparation
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking, referrals, and proposal support
  • Identify opportunities for cross‑selling and expanding client services
  • Begin building a personal book of business in alignment with firm goals
  • Demonstrate leadership, judgment, and ownership consistent with future partner expectations

Qualifications
  • CPA license required
  • 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience, including significant tax management responsibility
  • Strong technical knowledge across a variety of tax entities and industries
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex engagements and deadlines
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑service skills
  • Demonstrated interest in long‑term growth and partnership within a CPA firm

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience as a Director or Senior Manager with partner‑level exposure
  • Business development or client origination experience
  • Familiarity with tax software and workflow systems commonly used in public accounting
