ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sales Representative I is responsible for learning and supporting Wells’ sales and marketing processes while developing the skills needed to identify, pursue, and develop profitable precast projects. This role focuses on prospecting, relationship building, assisting with estimating and project coordination, and representing the company at meetings, presentations, and industry events. The position plays a key role in supporting early-stage project development and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Salary range $58,862-$88,294 a year. Based on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Monitor upcoming project opportunities and track new leads
  • Assist estimating and engineering teams with preliminary project development and layouts
  • Support preparation of budget estimates, cost studies, and project bid materials
  • Maintain project logs, opportunity tracking, and sales pipeline documentation
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge resources
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors
  • Attend meetings, industry events, and networking functions to grow client relationships
  • Support marketing and business development efforts, including tradeshows and presentations
  • Assist in RFI development and coordination of project information during pursuit stages
  • Coordinate sample and mockup submittals, approvals, and delivery to clients and job sites
  • Maintain accurate client and opportunity data within tracking or CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure effective communication and project alignment
  • Support brand consistency and assist with marketing materials and case study development
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a motivated and relationship-driven individual early in their sales or construction career who is eager to learn the precast industry. They are confident communicators who enjoy building relationships, supporting project development, and working collaboratively across estimating, engineering, and marketing teams. This individual is organized, proactive, and driven to develop strong industry knowledge while contributing to successful project pursuits and long-term client partnerships.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • 2–4 year degree in construction, business, marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Exposure to precast, construction, drafting, production, or related industry experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings and bid documents
  • Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar modeling tools preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present information clearly in meetings and presentations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a motor vehicle

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
