Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Internal Distribution, the Relationship Manager is responsible for managing relationships and selling TD Asset Management strategies within a TD PWM territory.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for co-managing an assigned territory of TD Private Investment Counsel and Private Investment Advice advisors and portfolio managers.
  • Mentors the Business Development Manager, providing guidance on analytics and business development strategies
  • Becomes an indispensable business partner by providing industry intelligence, business strategy and sound investment counsel
  • Executes on the business plan, meets activity targets and ensures excellent customer service
  • Plans and executes sales activities to attract, retain and acquire clients
  • Develops new business and increases share of wallet within the region
  • Works collaboratively with internal partners to maximize distribution effectiveness and provides a seamless client experience
  • Becomes a highly specialized resource for TD platforms, products and processes
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts
  • Upholds corporate and industry sales practices, assesses and manages opportunities for co-op marketing from both a business and National Instrument 81-105 perspective taking ownership over the co-op process from start to finish through written communication with Investment Advisors

Skills & Experience Required

  • University degree
  • Preference given to industry accreditations (CFA, CIM, CFP, FCSI)
  • 5+ years of industry sales experience
  • In-depth knowledge of both asset management and wealth management industry
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Strong interest in capital markets
  • Excels in a sales environment
