CR Fletcher is seeking an Operations Manager/Crew Leader for a client company that operates across the Central New York area.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of one or more Catholic cemetery properties, ensuring all services are delivered with dignity, efficiency, and respect for Catholic traditions. This role manages grounds maintenance, interment services, equipment, scheduling, and staff supervision while coordinating closely with clergy, funeral homes, and internal teams. The manager ensures regulatory compliance, workplace safety, accurate recordkeeping, and compassionate service to families during burial services.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, facilities management, horticulture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in cemetery operations, facilities, landscaping, or similar environments.
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience, including staff scheduling and performance management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of and respect for Catholic burial practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Valid driver's license.
- Preferred: bilingual skills, experience with cemetery management software, heavy equipment knowledge, and union environment familiarity.
