Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee field and office survey operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Supervise project managers and staff in project planning, scheduling, proposal development, cost estimating, and execution.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, stakeholders, and external agencies.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to meet project and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality assurance/quality control requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide training and mentorship, and support employee development.
  • Review and approve survey deliverables, reports, maps, legal descriptions, and professional service proposals.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and assist in resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Establish operational goals, improve procedures, and promote a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
  • Travel to project sites, client meetings, and field locations as required.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of surveying experience in both field and office environments.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and team supervision experience.
  • Proven knowledge of survey operations, pipeline construction, mapping, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with survey equipment and software, including Trimble and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of state land survey requirements, boundary surveying, topographic surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing project demands, and work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
