Municipal Account Manager

Job description

Ecowaste Solutions is a rapidly growing company in one of the most stable, recession-resistant industries in the country. Communities always need waste and recycling services, and we've built a strong and expanding footprint of long-term municipal partnerships across multiple states. As our Regional Municipal Account Manager, you'll own that growth directly, closing new contracts, locking in renewals, and building the kind of relationships with city and county decision-makers that keep us ahead of the competition before an RFP ever hits the street.

If you've managed long sales cycles, closed complex service contracts, or built relationships with institutional or government buyers, you'll find familiar ground here.

What You'll Own

Account Growth and New Business You'll build and manage a pipeline of new municipal partnerships, developing multi-year strategies to get ahead of competitive bids. You'll represent the company at public meetings, councils, and community events, and maintain the kind of ongoing relationships that make renewals a foregone conclusion rather than a fight.

Contracts and Renewals You'll own the full contract lifecycle from initial agreement through renewal, including pricing adjustments and amendments. That means negotiating terms that protect margin, lock in renewal windows, and reduce operational exposure over time. You're not handing this off to legal and walking away; you're the person who understands what's in the contract and why it matters.

Compliance and Risk You'll ensure the company stays current on all contractual and regulatory obligations tied to your accounts, including certificates of insurance, performance bonds, reporting requirements, and fee structures. When something is about to lapse or fall out of alignment, you catch it before it becomes a problem.

Issue Resolution When a service issue, billing dispute, or operational breakdown escalates to the municipal level, it lands on your desk. You'll coordinate across internal teams to get it resolved and keep the relationship intact.

Proposals and Pro Formas You'll develop pricing, scope, and proposal content for new opportunities, working with marketing and operations to put together competitive submissions. You'll build and maintain a forward-looking pipeline so there are no surprises on the growth side.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Managed complex, multi-year sales cycles with large institutional or commercial accounts
  • Negotiated and renewed service contracts, ideally with multiple stakeholders involved
  • Held accountability for revenue retention and new business development on the same territory
  • Worked cross-functionally to resolve issues without losing the client relationship
  • Stayed organized across a portfolio of accounts with different timelines, terms, and requirements

Experience with government, utilities, facilities services, logistics, or other regulated industries is a plus but not required.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Who doesn't like to get paid weekly? We like it so we provide weekly pay!
  • Competitive base + uncapped commission
  • Multiple Health Plans to choose from, with 50% Company paid Employee and Dependent Plans
  • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • Retirement Plan with a company match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Access to employee discount through LifeMart!

Ecowaste Solutions offers a competitive base salary, opportunity to earn incentive pay, and a comprehensive employee benefits package. Please submit your Indeed resume and salary history for consideration. Only applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be considered, and only individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
