Job description

Position Summary: 

The Director of Broker Relationships is focused on driving sales through relationships with brokers for the U.S. Combined Agency channel.  Reporting directly to the AVP of Broker Solutions and supporting the Zone Vice Presidents and Agency Directors, in an assigned geography, with sales and business opportunities, this role will primarily focus on production through brokers.  They will be asked to personally drive broker relationships and production through their personal efforts and activities.  This role will work with the local markets and sales teams to help support enrollment and ongoing service for cases and brokers in the geographical market that the business resides in. They will be responsible for growing the broker-influenced business nationally.  This role will work directly with the AVP, of Broker Education Development and the Premier Client Services team to help drive consistency as it relates to the broker strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the AVP of Broker Solutions, to create and deliver a sales plan with specific & measurable sales goals and target markets.  Accountable for the delivery of agreed upon metrics.  

  • Collaborate with Zone Manager, Agency Directors, Agency Leaders and sales support teams in the creation of sales plans to drive broker sales. 

  • Develop and maintain an ongoing pipeline (with agreed upon targets) of potential customers to continuously generate and grow sales.

  • Maintain existing client relationships and identify sales opportunities.

  • Create sales and service strategies focused on Premier Clients to meet the needs of key clients. 

  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines for client entertainment, prospecting, travel, etc.

Skills:

  • Ability to think strategically and act proactively 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication (oral and written), ability to present effectively in front of large groups
  • Possess high integrity and high ethical standards, while pursuing the sales strategies and objectives and in all business practices

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales, worksite sales and broker experience within the life, health, and accident insurance industry
  • Expertise in developing and executing on strategic plans
  • Possesses valid life, health and accident insurance licenses in the geographical areas of responsibility 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • You will be expected to travel in performing your duties. 
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% domestically; actual travel may vary based on business needs, meeting availability, and scheduling constraints

The pay range for the role is  $98,000 to  $142,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
