We are seeking a driven, highly organized Business Development Manager to join our BD, Marketing and Comms team and work directly with the Head of BD. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting our most senior partners across a range of practice areas - including corporate and executive compensation - as they strengthen and expand client relationships.ย 

Our partnersย runย a highlyย successfulย practiceย thatย competes withย some of the largestย and most prestigious law firms.ย Theyย need a BDย professional who can both developย the strategy and get things doneย - someone whoย thrives in a fast-pacedย environmentย and can build processesย while delivering results.ย You will be aย trusted partner to our fee earners and a key driver of Sterlington's continued growth.ย 

We are also a firm that embraces new technology: we are actively integrating AI into how we work, and we are looking for someone who is already a proactive adopter of AI, with hands on experience using it to make business development smarter, faster and more impactful.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly withย senior partners andย theย Headย of BD to develop,ย maintainย and executeย BD plans, trackย progress,ย holdย partners accountableย forย commitments,ย and proactivelyย flag whenย plansย are off track.ย 
  • Manage and updateย the firm'sย dealย credentials,ย capabilityย statementsย and experience databases,ย ensuring materials are current,ย accurateย andย readyย for pitchesย and proposals.ย 
  • Own andย maintainย the firm's CRM, ensuring BD activity, contacts, dealย credentialsย and pipeline information are accurately captured and kept current; act as the internal champion for CRM adoption and hygiene.ย 
  • Identify, research, and map target clients, referral sources, and market opportunities; bring proactive ideas and intelligence to partners rather than waiting to be askedย Coordinate and support BD-related events, sponsorships, conferences, and speaking engagementsย Prepare and coordinate pitch materials, capability presentationsย andย RFP responsesย for new and existing clients; support partners in preparation for client meetings and follow up on outcomesย 
  • Assistย with the production of marketing materials including presentations (PowerPoint), firm communications, and practice group content; support thought leadership initiatives in collaboration with the Head of BD and partnersย 

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experienceย in a BD role at a law firm - you understand theย professionalย services environment, how partnersย operate, and what good law firm BD looks like in practiceย ย 
  • Manager-levelย track record, with demonstrable examples ofย independently owning and driving BD programs, not just supporting themย 
  • Exceptional organization skills and aย task-orientedย mindset - you track what's open,ย chaseย what'sย outstanding and raiseย your handย clearly when things are off trackย 
  • Strongย written communicationย skillsย 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-growthย environmentย -ย proactive and able to prioritize effectively without a large supporting infrastructureย 
  • Available to work USย Eastern Timeย hoursย preferableย 

Desirable:

  • Experienceย in corporate orย transactional practice group BDย 
  • Proficiencyย inย PowerPointย and Wordย - able to produce polished, professional presentations andย documents to a high standardย 
  • Experience building creds databases andย maintainingย deal/matterย tracking systemsย 
  • Hands-on experience using AI to improve BD workflows, research, content production or client intelligenceย 
  • Experience supporting partners inย a high-growthย firm context where BD infrastructure is still being builtย out.ย
