The Director of Catering is responsible for all catered functions from origination to execution in a department where the annual managed volume is above $600K annually. The Director of Catering is the top catering lead for a unit and is responsible for handling complex planning, revenue growth, and culinary partnership for catering across the entire unit. This role develops catering systems conducive to growth, innovation, and excellence in customer service and has the ability to use high levels of creativity in event planning and execution. The Director of Catering works on a consistent basis with sales personnel to generate new business and plans menus in accordance with customer expectations and budget. This individual coordinated the smooth execution of all catered events by serving as the principal contact, manager, and cost control and collection agent. The Director of Catering is responsible for department cash handling and verification of all sales and proper reporting for all interested parties and is also responsible for handling customer complaints and rectifying problem situations.

  • 12+ years of professional experience, including 7+ years in hospitality or high-volume catering; degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary, or related field preferred.
  • Skilled in planning, executing, and managing catered events while building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to develop pricing, manage budgets, handle billing and cash reporting, and achieve revenue goals for catered functions.
  • Experienced in coordinating catering operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and manage catering staff to maintain service excellence and adherence to Parkhurst standards.
