Delivery Manager (End-to-End Project Delivery )

Location: Bethesda, MD

Employment Type : Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to own end-to-end delivery of projects for our client,

working in a hybrid capacity out of Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of

managing the full project lifecycle - from planning and resourcing through execution, risk management, and

successful delivery - while acting as a key point of contact between the client, delivery teams, and

leadership. This role requires strong ownership, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive multiple

workstreams to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, from initiation and planning through execution, go-live,
  • and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resourcing plans, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client on delivery status, risks, dependencies, and
  • escalations.
  • Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and ensure teams stay
  • aligned to sprint and release goals.
  • Manage scope, budget, timelines, and quality across the project lifecycle, proactively identifying and
  • mitigating risks.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across engineering, QA, design, and business teams to remove
  • blockers and keep delivery on track.
  • Track and report project health, KPIs, and delivery metrics to client stakeholders and internal
  • leadership.
  • Manage resource allocation, staffing plans, and onboarding/offboarding for project teams.
  • Facilitate change management, ensuring scope changes are properly assessed, documented, and
  • approved.
  • Own client relationship management, ensuring high satisfaction and proactive communication
  • throughout the engagement.

Required / Mandatory Skills

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager / Project Manager owning end-to-end delivery of
  • technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and/or hybrid delivery methodologies, with hands-on experience
  • running ceremonies.
  • Solid experience with project tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with direct experience interfacing with client leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, resourcing, and risk across multiple concurrent
  • workstreams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for
  • business audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Must be local to the Bethesda, MD area and available for on-site work as required by the hybrid
  • schedule.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • PMP, CSM, SAFe, or equivalent project/delivery management certification.
  • Experience managing delivery for enterprise or regulated clients
  • Familiarity with QA/testing, DevOps, or CI/CD practices as they relate to release management.
  • Experience with reporting/dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for delivery metrics.
