Job description

Position Summary
Assist the Director of Nutrition Services with the day-to-day operation of an Opaa! Food Management account in conjunction with the Director of Nutrition Services (DNS).
Functions of the Job
Essential Functions Production
  • Arrange for a substitute worker scheduling, as the need arises.
  • Transport food products around the district buildings as needed on a daily basis. Perform duties of any on-line staff when those positions cannot be filled by substitute workers.
  • Keep office work area neat, clean, and organized.
Compliance
  • Demonstrate and promote Opaa!'s Core Values of "Always Act in the Best Interest of the Client, Demonstrate Integrity to Earn Trust, Provide Hospitality, Accept Accountability". Report concerns to the Director of Nutrition Services immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with Opaa! recipes and menus.
  • Assist in maintaining production records, as required by Opaa! And the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Assist in promoting and maintaining all goals and cost management numbers required and set by Opaa!
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly in-service, NAC meetings, and other group meetings as required on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the implementation of the marketing program, in accordance with Opaa! program requirements.
  • Monitor HACCP processes and ensure temperatures of all hot and cold products are properly recorded.
  • Assists in the reconciliation of the daily tray count versus the cashier's reports.
Administrative
  • Input complete and accurate invoices, participation, and other information into the remote on a daily basis.
  • Reconciles the daily cash reports and prepares daily receipts for the deposit where applicable.
  • Update weekly inventory spreadsheets to ensure food and supplies are valued correctly.
  • Assist in consolidating weekly food orders in preparation for inputting them with our prime vendor or milk and bread vendors.
  • Assist in the coordinating of catering events to ensure quality special events take place.
Supervisory
  • Assist DNS in managing, directing, and scheduling the activities of all subordinate personnel.
  • Assist DNS with performance issues and conflicts in the workplace in a timely matter.
  • Train, cross-train, and certify all kitchen staff on all job situations in the kitchen.
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
Client Relationships
  • Establish and maintain open and effective lines of communication with the customers and client satisfaction.
  • Assist DNS in preparing and presenting a monthly status report to the Board of Education.
  • Assist DNS in marketing events in accordance with Opaa! Guidelines.
  • Assist DNS in coordinating catering events to ensure quality special events take place.

Position Qualification Requirements
Education:
High School or GED required + six months to one year of related experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, commons fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
