Job description

Animal Clinic of Muskegon is seeking a dedicated and versatile Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative to join our team! In this dual-role position, you'll be a vital part of both our medical support team and our reception staff. Whether you're assisting in the treatment area or greeting clients at the front desk, your work will help ensure our patients receive the highest quality care and our clients feel informed, supported, and welcome.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with outpatient visits and procedures, educating pet owners, managing appointment flow, and maintaining a warm, professional presence as the face of our hospital. Youll collaborate with our doctors and veterinary technicians while also engaging with clients in person and over the phone to answer questions, schedule appointments, and provide guidance on our services.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is equally passionate about excellent patient care and outstanding customer service.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

  • Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
  • Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $16-19 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with availability needed Monday-Friday, and one Saturday per month. Your schedule will be split with a focus on scheduling as an assistant, and 1-2 days as a CSR.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
