The Cecil Hotel/Safe Landing is an Interim Housing program that aids homeless individuals in their recovery journey, helping them improve their health conditions and enhance their social and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills. Some of these individuals may also grapple with mental health and substance use issues, which can occasionally manifest in behaviors such as yelling, using strong language, and displaying anger outbursts. 4. Offer meal assistance when needed, ensuring participants have access to food in a dignified manner.
  5. Observe and document participants' physical and emotional well-being, noting any changes and communicating concerns to the care team.
  6. Promote participant safety and comfort, ensuring communal spaces are clean and accessible.
  7. Engage with participants without judgment, respecting their autonomy and lived experiences.
  8. Utilize harm reduction principles to support participants in making informed decisions about their health and well-being.
  9. Respond to participant needs with de-escalation techniques and nonviolent crisis intervention strategies.
  10. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and low-barrier environment where participants feel respected and supported.
  11. Accurately document participant interactions, observations, and changes in condition in compliance with program policies.
  12. Follow confidentiality protocols, ensuring participant information is shared only with authorized personnel.
  13. Adhere to program policies and procedures, including attendance, safety, and emergency response protocols.
  14. Report potential safety risks, concerns, or critical incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  15. Engage in ongoing training on harm reduction, trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and program operations.
  16. Assist in maintaining an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required (may be substituted for experience)
  2. Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, substance use, or mental health conditions preferred.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with participants in a patient-centered and trauma-informed manner.

  5. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  6. Basic proficiency with documentation and computer use (email, electronic records, Microsoft Word).
  7. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Experience & Skills:
