Overview

We are seeking motivated and ambitious college graduates to join our team as Financial Advisors with a primary focus on client acquisition and long-term service. In this role, you will build your team-based book of business by actively prospecting, identifying, attracting, and onboarding new clients through networking, referrals, and relationship building as a part of our financial planning team. You will be the face of 49 Financial, growing your client base and delivering compelling financial solutions.

This role focuses on business development and client acquisition rather than financial analysis, portfolio construction, or investment research. Ideal candidates are relationship builders and natural networkers rather than those seeking primarily analytical work. Candidates should possess strong sales aptitude, communication and social skills, leadership experience and a desire to be in a client-facing role.

Compensation is directly tied to client acquisition and retention; early success comes primarily from prospecting within your personal and professional networks. This is a performance-based compensation role with no cap on earnings. Success is tied directly to your ability to acquire and serve clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition & Business Development: Generate new prospect contacts through existing relationships, referrals, networking events, social media outreach, community involvement, and warm prospecting. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and personal market development. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct meetings and presentations to prospective clients, clearly communicating the value of our financial strategies and services with the goal of bringing on new clients.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong relationships with prospects and clients, understanding their financial goals and offering solutions that meet their needs.
  • Lead Generation: Actively seek out and develop new leads through various channels, personal networking, industry events, community presentations, and persistent follow-up.
  • Client Onboarding: Guide new clients through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from the first interaction.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with our financial planning and portfolio management teams to ensure that the solutions offered align with clients’ financial objectives.
  • Knowledge: Build understanding of financial concepts and offerings financial planning frameworks, and financial markets, tax planning, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Sales or a related field
  • Strong interest in sales, client acquisition, and financial services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to business development and prospecting
  • Strong desire to educate and guide people through finances
  • Comfort with performance-based compensation and meeting sales targets
  • Comfort with rejection and persistence in follow-up
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding goals/targets
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment
