Poised for substantial growth in 2025 and looking for a 3PL Warehouse Account Manager to deliver on tough challenges and lead change in this highly competitive industry. The 3PL business is a “sky is the limit” industry that continues to see massive growth as brick-and-mortar businesses continue to transition to a direct-to-consumer model.

The 3PL Warehouse Account Manager will oversee the management of client relationships for third-party logistics (3PL) services, ensuring that warehouse operations are efficient, meet client needs, and are in line with service-level agreements. The 3PL Warehouse Account Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end client experience, ensuring operational success, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements and growth.

KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, building and maintaining strong relationships focused on warehouse logistics services.
  • Understand client business models, inventory needs, and distribution requirements to provide tailored 3PL solutions that align with their operational goals.
  • Regularly check in with clients to assess satisfaction, resolve issues, and recommend new services or improvements. (Quarterly Reviews)
  • Ensure that any operational or service challenges are promptly addressed, ensuring minimal disruption to client business.

Operational Oversight & Efficiency:

  • Collaborate with warehouse managers and supervisors to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall service levels.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth by proposing additional 3PL services (e.g., value-added services, supply chain improvements) that could help clients optimize their logistics operations. (Customer Service)
  • Develop and present account strategies and initiatives that contribute to client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and work to expand relationships.

Account Growth & Strategy:

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Provide regular performance updates and metrics related to warehouse operations, client satisfaction, and account performance. (Inventory Accuracy, Order Accuracy, Fulfillment On-Time, Receiving On-Time)
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or potential service gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports for clients outlining key performance indicators (KPIs), service delivery metrics, and any improvements or opportunities. (Inventory Accuracy, Order Accuracy, Fulfillment On-Time, Receiving On-Time)

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work closely with warehouse operations, logistics, transportation, and inventory teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Act as the liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of expectations, timelines, and special requirements.
  • Support other departments with insights and recommendations related to warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics optimization.

Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively seek to resolve client concerns, challenges, or disputes related to warehouse operations, order accuracy, or inventory management.
  • Use client feedback and operational insights to drive process improvements within the warehouse and across the 3PL service offering.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the warehouse and logistics operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Master’s degree or relevant certifications in logistics is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in account management within the 3PL, logistics, or warehouse industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, logistics operations, and 3PL services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, internal teams, and external vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with logistics software, WMS, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational standards.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to oversee complex operational processes.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.
