Title: Project Manager & Strategic Consultant | Location: Onsite - Massachusetts | Work authorization: US Citizen

Role Summary

The Project Manager serves as MassArt’s primary operational coordinator and strategic digital advisor. This role governs the intake, prioritization, and tracking of all maintenance, accessibility, and enhancement requests while ensuring transparent communication, schedule adherence, and alignment with institutional priorities. The Project Manager also provides ongoing strategic guidance related to UX/UI, accessibility, performance, SEO, and emerging digital practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Backlog & Capacity Governance – manage intake, triage, estimation, prioritization, and scheduling of all support requests.
  • Strategic Digital Consultation – advise MassArt on UX/UI improvements, accessibility governance, technical SEO, structured data, analytics, and AI‑powered search trends.
  • Risk & Dependency Management – identify blockers, regressions, integration risks, and timeline constraints; communicate impacts immediately.
  • Cross Institutional Coordination – facilitate collaboration among vendor developers, MassArt’s internal editors, and campus IT stakeholders.
  • Progress Reporting – deliver detailed monthly progress summaries and itemized time tracking reports attached to invoices.
  • Meeting Facilitation – lead weekly check‑ins, document decisions, and maintain clarity on next steps.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital support operations for higher education, public sector, or multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Expertise with agile project management, backlog grooming, and tools such as Jira, Asana, or ClickUp.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, custom themes, plugins, integrations, and deployment workflows.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, remediation workflows, and regression prevention.
  • Consulting background in conversion optimization, digital storytelling, and prospective student enrollment journeys.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Pantheon‑hosted WordPress environments.
  • Familiarity with Slate, Localist, Mailchimp, Modern Campus, or other higher education platforms.
