Position Title: Graduate Assistant, Student Support
Department: Student Success and Retention
Supervisors: Executive Director of Student Support
Qualifications
• Must be accepted to or enrolled in an approved master's program at Cumberland University
• Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA
• Available to work weekday office hours, occasional weeknight and weekend events
• Competence in technology; proficiency in Word, Excel, and Publisher

Job Duties and Responsibilities
General Duties:
• Serve as role model for student leadership and civility on campus
• Provide clerical support to the Executive Director of Academic Support and the Director
of Student Retention and TN Promise Support
• Keep track of the upkeep of Learning & Career Commons furniture and technology
• Respond to and organize room reservation requests for the Learning & Career Commons
• Update general signage throughout the Learning & Career Commons
Retention:
• Assist with data collection, analysis and presentation
• Assist the team in retention and student integration initiatives
• Assist the team in research of retention efforts
• Assist the Executive Director with planning and execution of New Student Orientation
• Design events to encourage informal faculty and student interaction
TN Promise Support:
• Assist the Director in planning campus service projects
• Assist the Director in the promotion and coordination of TN Promise events
• Assist in analysis of students post associate's degree
Hours
• Required 20 hours a week minimum for term of graduate program
• Must have flexible hours and the ability to prioritize working hours dedicated to the
university regardless of any other forms of outside employment
Remuneration
Full tuition waiver (no stipend, books or fees)
