We are looking for you to join our team as a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer based out of Woodland Hills, CA. Our success is grounded in our ability to embrace change, move quickly and continuously drive innovation. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

What You'll get to Do:

  • Process software releases for both Woodland Hills and Salt Lake City sites
  • Create SCM controlled software builds
  • Schedule and facilitate Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB) meetings and process Software Action Requests (SAR)
  • Perform SCM processes in compliance with principles and operating procedures and homeroom directives
  • Drive process improvements to the SCM organization to maximize efficiency

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer are:

  • 2 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science; 0 years with Masters
  • Ability to work on-site in Woodland Hills, CA
  • Demonstrated capability to work well in a collaborative team environment supporting multiple programs
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and data gathering skills
  • Process-focused with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in use of tools such as the following: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (i.e., Enovia Matrix or Teamcenter), ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git, various compilers, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting controlled software builds
  • Proven ability to work with internal and external customers
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active U.S.Government Secret Clearance

  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science; 3 years with Masters

  • Excellent planning, organizational and data gathering skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong understanding of SCM principles, practices, and processes with the ability to maintain and improve them as well as communicate their benefits to the end user
  • High Proficiency in use of tools such as the following: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (i.e., Enovia Matrix or Teamcenter), ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git, various compilers and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency creating and troubleshooting controlled software builds
  • Knowledge and ability to support customer and internal audits
  • Proven ability to work with internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant SCM experience in aerospace/defense
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Highly proficient with the tools listed under Basic Qualifications and experience with GitHub and GitLab
  • Experience supporting the SCM role in SQA and customer audits, such as Physical and Functional Configuration Audits (PCA/FCA)
  • Build Management experience, including creating Software Version Descriptions (SVD)
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
