JOB TITLE: Janitorial Associate
DEPARTMENT: Industrial Operations
SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Janitorial Cleaning Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
JOB STATUS: PRN/Sub, Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Evening or Weekend Shifts
Summary:
Provide cleaning and grounds services to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors. This role includes routine janitorial duties, lawn care, and customer service responsibilities in public-facing spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform janitorial duties according to established schedules
• Clean and maintain restrooms, floors, windows, furniture, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform ongoing spot cleaning
• Empty trash receptacles and maintain waste disposal areas
• Clean drinking fountains and other high-touch surfaces
• Maintain outdoor areas, including litter pickup and general grounds upkeep
• Perform lawn care duties such as mowing, trimming, and minor pruning when applicable
• Operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively
• Greet visitors and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor
Qualifications & Skills:
• Ability to follow schedules and complete tasks independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to provide courteous customer service
• Basic communication skills in English
• Ability to work as part of a team
Physical & Work Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to push and pull equipment up to 20 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, and physical activity
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
