Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time

Sponsored by: Connect Force Recruiting

Company Overview

Connect Force Recruiting is partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company in the Farmington Hills area. This organization supports advanced industrial and automotive manufacturing environments and is known for high-quality tooling, precision craftsmanship, and specialized products used in demanding manufacturing applications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Abrasives Quality Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspection of abrasive stones used in honing tools. This role is responsible for checking product quality, verifying dimensions, confirming the correct diamond size and compound, and preparing finished parts for inventory or shipment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys hands-on inspection work, and wants to build experience in a specialized precision manufacturing environment. No formal education is required, but strong attention to detail and experience using measuring tools are important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 100% visual and dimensional inspection of abrasive stones.
  • Verify that abrasive stones meet required quality and dimensional standards.
  • Confirm the correct diamond size and abrasive compound are used in manufacturing.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and basic measuring tools to inspect parts.
  • Etch part numbers onto abrasive stones according to work instructions.
  • Package and label finished parts for inventory, sales, or shipment.
  • Follow written work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Accurately identify and report quality concerns or nonconforming parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Required Qualifications
  • No formal education required.
  • Experience using basic shop tools and shop supplies.
  • Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive inspection tasks with consistency.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, tooling, or production experience.
  • Experience inspecting small parts, abrasive materials, tooling components, or precision-manufactured products.
  • Familiarity with visual inspection, dimensional inspection, labeling, packaging, or inventory preparation.
  • Background in honing tools, abrasive stones, diamond abrasives, or precision manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, shop materials, and temperature variations. Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE. The role involves regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and hands-on inspection of manufactured components.
