Job Description

As a Housekeeping Night Cleaner, you play a critical behind-the-scenes role in preparing the hotel for each new day. During overnight hours, you are responsible for the deep cleaning, care, and readiness of all public areas, ensuring the Rimrock is pristine, polished, and fully prepared for morning operations. 

This role is rooted in precision, discipline, and consistency. You take pride in thorough, methodical work and find satisfaction in completing tasks accurately and completely. Working overnight requires focus, independence, and a strong respect for standards, and you thrive in a quiet, structured environment where quality matters above all else. 

Eligible for complimentary shared staff accommodation as a taxable benefit.

Key Responsibilities 

Public Space Cleaning & Presentation 

  • Perform deep cleaning of all public areas during overnight hours, including lobbies, corridors, washrooms, stairwells, elevators, and back-of-house areas. 
  • Complete detailed cleaning projects such as carpet shampooing, floor polishing, upholstery cleaning, and surface detailing. 
  • Ensure all public spaces are immaculate, orderly, and fully prepared for morning guest traffic. 
  • Maintain consistent presentation standards across all areas, leaving nothing to chance. 

Overnight Operations & Guest Support 

  • Respond promptly and professionally to overnight guest requests or service needs. 
  • Assist with unexpected cleaning requirements or urgent situations as they arise during the overnight shift. 
  • Work calmly and efficiently in a low-traffic environment, maintaining discretion and respect for guest privacy. 

Safety, Maintenance & Reporting 

  • Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, safety concerns, or unusual conditions to supervisors immediately. 
  • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures precisely. 
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and care of cleaning equipment and supplies. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. 

Operational Excellence 

  • Complete assigned tasks methodically, ensuring all routines and procedures are finished before moving on to new assignments. 
  • Maintain storage rooms, carts, and cleaning areas in clean, organized, and orderly condition. 
  • Work cooperatively with other overnight colleagues to ensure smooth, efficient operations. 
  • Adhere strictly to established standards, checklists, and overnight cleaning schedules. 
Qualifications

What You Bring 

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred; structured training is provided. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures without deviation. 
  • Comfort working overnight in a quiet, structured environment. 
  • Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and professionalism. 
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks thoroughly and efficiently. 
  • Willingness to follow rules, standards, and safety procedures at all times.

  • Experience in overnight housekeeping or public space cleaning. 
  • Experience in a luxury hotel or high-standard hospitality environment. 
  • Familiarity with floor care, carpet cleaning, and specialized cleaning equipment.

Physical Demands 

  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout overnight shifts.

  • Repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and sustained focus. 
  • Ability to work overnight hours in a low-activity environment. 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
