Pouch Room Operator Job Description

Department: Pouch Room

Position Type: Hourly Hourly Wage: $27.38

Function: Operations

The statements included in this Position Description reflect, in general, the duties and responsibilities of this position and are not to be interpreted as being all inclusive. The focus should be on the position and not the current incumbent.

SUMMARY: Operate multiple pouch machines safely and efficiently while performing quality control audits of SFG pouches.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Starts up, operates, and shuts down pouch forming, cooling, sealing, straw strip placement, coding, and conveying systems of the pouch machine.

2. Makes packaging roll changes as needed.

3. Optimizes equipment uptime; monitors mechanical operation of equipment and unjams machines.

4. Helps troubleshoot mechanical problems and notifies technician of issues.

5. Supervises quality issues, performs and records checks on pouch visual points of quality.

6. Performs and records checks on seal alignment.

7. Ensure adequate quantities of accurate rotated foil stock (FIFO) are available and tested. Complete all required audits.

8. Document pouches material losses, downtime, and production totals; palletize finished boxes of pouches.

9. Maintains good housekeeping. Ensure "Area of Responsibility" is clean and orderly.

10. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.

11. Ensures completion of all DMS forms (ie. CIL, CLM, 5S, Defect handling, Shift hand-offs, Oscar boards, etc.)

12. Maintains room as a tour ready status.

13. Performs all other duties as assigned.

This position also has accountability for QRMP standards as outlined in the Winchester Kraft Heinz QRMP accountability document.
