Position Summary
The Classroom Assistant supports the Learning Coach in helping students to access online instruction, build
independence, and succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. This role works closely with students,
online teachers, to provide individualized assistance, reinforce learning goals, and help create a structured,
encouraging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the learning coach
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students
Reinforce academic skills, routines, and positive behavior supports
Assist students with organization, transitions, and completing assigned tasks
Help prepare and organize instructional materials and learning activities
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the learning coach
Provide support during classroom instruction, interventions, and accommodations
Encourage student independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
Maintain confidentiality
Assist with data collection, record keeping, and documentation as needed
This position plays an important role in helping students with chronic illness and/or neurodivergence feel
supported, included, and successful in their learning environment.
