Job description

Description
The Center for Humanities at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in Humanities to begin in August 2027.
The Center seeks to fill several tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor, to start in the 2027-2028 academic year. Applications are welcome from all relevant disciplines, including History, Literature (English, American, World), Politics (particularly the history of political thought), Political Economy, Classics, Religion and Philosophy.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree.
Application Instructions
A complete application must include:
  1. a curriculum vitae;
  2. a cover letter, which addresses research agenda; teaching interests and competencies; and commitment to interdisciplinary undergraduate instruction;
  3. a sample of scholarly writing within the last three years; and
  4. a list of three academic references with contact information.
