Studebaker Restoration is seeking a skilled and passionate Automotive Mechanic specializing in Classic Car Restoration to join our dedicated team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with vintage automobiles, applying your expertise to bring timeless classics back to life.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive mechanics, combined with a genuine appreciation for classic cars and restoration techniques. Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed mechanical repairs and maintenance on classic and vintage automobiles.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components with precision to ensure authentic restoration.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues specific to classic car systems.
  • Collaborate with the restoration team to develop repair plans and timelines.
  • Diagnose and repair vintage engines, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Restore and maintain classic Studebakers and vintage vehicles
  • Perform engine rebuilds, brake and suspension work, and custom fabrication

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with classic vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of vintage systems including engines, transmissions, and electrical components. (pre-1980 systems)
  • Welding, fabrication, and diagnostic skills
  • Certification: ASE certification or similar is preferred
  • A genuine love for classics and the culture that surrounds them
  • Career-minded mechanics
  • Proven experience as an automotive mechanic with a focus on classic car restoration.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills specific to older vehicle technologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude towards teamwork.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
