Job description

Primary Purpose of job:
This position will assist claims adjusters with administrator tasks associated with occupational injury claims. It will administer the occupational clinic offerings, handle fully insured claims, and provide other administrative support to the claim adjusters.
Major Functions:
1. Coordination with TPA and fully insured claims for RSN states and new markets. - 35%
a. Make first contact with QuikTrip employees to determine need for TPA/fully insured involvement.
i. Education employee on TPA/fully insured process.
ii. Provide accident report to TPA/fully insured plan. Communicate with assigned adjuster as needed during life of claim.
b. Communicate with QuikTrip employees as needed, including work status changes to Personnel Managers.
c. Request any needed reporting from fully insured carrier and prepare as either standalone reporting or combine with Departmental reporting, as appropriate.
2. Handle incidents, calling claimants to confirm no medical treatment sought. Transfer claim to assigned adjuster when proof of medical treatment is received. - 20%
3. Provide department extensive support for OSHA reporting. - 15%
a. Prepare initial draft of OSHA investigation report when requested for immediately reportable claims.
b. Perform quarterly audit of OSHA tab for occupational injury claims.
c. Serve as contact for past and up-to-date OSHA report requests for OSHA inspections.
d. Prepare and assist in distribution of annual OSHA surveys, reports and BLS requests.
4. Provide claims administration support, including processing refund checks, assisting with wage statement preparation and helping with PBM, TPA and billing entries. - 15%
5. Administer QuikTrip's occ/injury clinic master list. Provide clinic oversight by contacting them about service issues, chain of custody form issues and general communication issues. Remove noncompliant clinics from list as needed. - 5% of total job
6. Departmental backup, including backup telephone coverage for Claims Adjusters. - 10%

Position Specifications:
The required specifications (education, experience, and skills) are those that the employee must have to hold the position. Required education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Desired education: Associates insurance degree as well as Workers' Compensation or State Multi-line Adjuster's license.
Required experience: 2 years hands-on experience in claims environment.
Desired experience: 4 years' experience as a claims assistant in claims environment or 2+ years handling Med Only claims.
Required skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, strong organizational, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in fast paced environment and multi-task.
Desired skills: Working knowledge of QuikTrip's claims management system and HCM.
