About the opportunity: Civil Structural Designer

We are currently seeking a full-time Civil Structural Designer to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Civil/Structural team, which is responsible for developing designs for structural layouts in facilities such as refineries, distilleries, and consumer packaging facilities. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.


Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
  • Identifies and obtains information needed from and by other departments for coordination purposes.
  • Uses software to develop 3D models of structures used in industrial facilities.
  • The Civil Structural Designer prepares structural steel and reinforced concrete design drawings.
  • Works with other departments to ensure project is completed.
  • Communicates with the engineers to coordinate plans.
  • Reads documents, specifications, reports, and other materials to ensure work is accurate.

Minimum requirements:

  • 2-year technical degree with a specialization in computer-aided drafting and design, along with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Driverโ€™s license
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
