The Team You Will Be Joining
Always at the ready, this agency is responsible for providing millions of Texans with services ranging from Medicaid for children to SNAP food benefits to behavioral health services every year. They do substantial work in accommodating the long-term needs of older Texans by ensuring the safety and dignity of people who live in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, finding independent housing and jobs for Texans with disabilities, and leading medical research projects on infectious diseases. This agency works to make all Texans safer.
Major Duties
- Coordinate the planning, development, and administration of Civil Rights programs (Equal Employment Opportunity [EEO], workplace accommodations, and compliance-related matters) and initiatives, exercising considerable independent judgment to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
Process reasonable accommodation requests for employees of several state agencies.
Serves as a mediator and prepares resolution agreements to facilitate dispute resolution.
Conducts investigations of employment discrimination complaints.
Prepares detailed, comprehensive investigative reports and findings.
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge of reasonable accommodation processes and agency programs, policies, functions, and organizational objectives.
- Skilled in conducting investigations, analyzing information, and developing effective solutions to complex workplace issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas and information both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability in counseling, human relations, and building productive relationships with employees at all organizational levels.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitating positive outcomes among multiple stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the agency Enterprise.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and standard business software, including word processing applications.
- Reliable and dependable, with the ability to maintain regular attendance, manage assigned responsibilities, and adapt to changing organizational needs.
Exciting Opportunity Details
- Rate: $67.00 per hour
- Length of Engagement: 3 months with potential for extension and long-term placement
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
