We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned attorney who has a strong background in insurance defense. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and services to ensure that our company operates within the law. They will also be involved in complex legal matters and projects. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, business acumen, and excellent negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the legal field, with a strong emphasis on insurance defense.
Responsibilities
1. Provide legal advice and support on a range of legal issues such as corporate law, litigation, contracts, insurance, privacy, intellectual property, and employment.
2. Handle insurance defense cases from inception through trial preparation.
3. Conduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issues and implications on matters of significant impact to the business.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
5. Provide legal advice to management on various legal issues related to the business.
6. Represent the company in legal proceedings, draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery notices.
7. Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
8. Monitor changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect the company.
9. Develop and deliver training on legal matters to ensure compliance across the organization.
Qualifications
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department handling insurance defense matters.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, challenging priorities within a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-reasoned legal judgments.
7. High level of professional ethics and integrity.
8. Strong knowledge of corporate law and insurance law.
9. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, and external partners.
10. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
