Job description

IMEG is hiring a Civil Project Engineer, ideally in Anaheim, CA, with alternative offices in Ontario or Pasadena, CA, to lead design efforts for low- to moderate-complexity civil projects while collaborating with senior staff on larger, more complex work. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering analysis, design, field inspections, reports, permit applications, and site drainage and grading solutions that support positive client outcomes. You'll also work within project budgets and help train, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities Lead design efforts for civil site projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and similar project types
Use engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
Complete and oversee permit applications in coordination with the team, client, and reviewing jurisdictions
Perform surface modeling, watershed modeling, storm sewer design, and sanitary sewer design
Support projects through bidding and construction administration phases
Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain strong professional relationships
Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives
Document design decisions, client instructions, project progress, and fee expenditure
Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions
Apply state and local design criteria, prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and identify issues requiring Project Manager guidance

Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills in the civil engineering field
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
Ability to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

State of California Salary Range: $101,000 - $134,000 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
